How Martingale betting system works?

Under Martingale betting system the player starts betting with a certain amount on the chosen color. If the chosen color arrives the player wins the bet and starts with the original bet, but if he loses
the bet then he doubles the original bet and starts again playing. This can be explained with an example- Suppose the player starts playing Roulette with initial bet of $10and if he wins the first spin he wins $10. If he loses
the first spin then he doubles the bet and makes the next bet of $20 and in case if he again loses
the bet then he again doubles his bet and makes the next bet of $40.
The player continues doubling the bet till the chosen color win. Statistically, no matter how many times a player loses
, it is sure that he will eventually win sometime and like this would recover the losses from the previous bets.
But the drawback with the Martingale system is that in the real world casino gambling the player cannot double the bet indefinitely. The Roulette players also have their own spending limits and all reputable casinos have their own betting limits, which doesn't allows the player to double bet after certain number of spins.
